Rhyme Finder
Type any English word and we will find words that rhyme with it. Pick how many trailing syllables should match โ the more you pick, the stronger the rhyme.
How it works
Each English word in our dictionary has a phonetic transcription. We compute its rhyme tail โ the sequence of sounds from the last stressed vowel to the end โ and store it in an index. When you search for a word, we look up other words with the same tail.
Perfect rhymes share both the stressed vowel and everything after it (e.g. night / bright). Near rhymes share only the ending after the last vowel and are useful when you need more variety.
Choosing trailing syllables
For longer words you can decide how many syllables at the end must match. Matching one syllable gives the loosest rhymes; matching two or more produces tighter, more musical pairs that work well in songwriting and poetry.
